The boat question that prevents surprises

Ask: Is this price for the whole boat or each passenger? What passenger and luggage limits apply? Is the return included? Can costs be shared, and what happens if the other guests cancel? Transfer quotes depend on the route; a quoted price for one property is not a standard island-wide fare.

Before paying for a boat

• Get the route and total price in writing: per person or whole boat, one-way or return, fuel, crew and luggage included.
• Confirm enough suitable lifejackets, passenger capacity and dry storage for luggage. Tell the operator about children and mobility needs.
• For a shared boat, agree the minimum number of passengers, waiting limit and what happens if someone cancels.
